Bidding

There are three ways to place a bid for an object sold at Karl & Faber. You may:

1.    come to the auction. Anyone can attend our auctions. Attendance is free and there is no special dress code. You need not be present at the entire auction. Instead, you can just come for the lots that interest you. We can provide you with a rough time guide as to when your lot will be called up.
If you wish to bid, you need to register at the reception, where you will also get your bidding number. To place a bid, simply give the auctioneer a clear sign such as raising your number.

2.    leave a written bid. You will find bidding forms at the viewing and at the end of our catalogues. You may also download a bidding form here. Please don’t forget to sign the form. You may send us the form by post or fax. We will then confirm receipt of your bid in writing.
Currently, we can only accept bids via e-mail through our log-in area which can be accessed via our online catalogue.

3.    bid by telephone. If you would like to register as a telephone bidder, please fill out the bidding form and clearly state that you wish to bid by phone. We will then confirm receipt in writing, giving you a rough estimate as to when we will phone you. During the auction, we will phone you about 8 lots before your lot is due. Please note that we cannot accept telephone bids for lots with an estimate of under Euros 1,000.

Please note that absentee bids need to reach us at least one day prior to the auction so that we can be sure to take them into account.
